Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum Review

7:00 AM

Living in a tropical country like the Philippines can sometimes do either good or bad on your skin. Because we tend to have a warmer climate, the heat and humidity can cause us to sweat a lot which makes our skin more sensitive. You are also more prone to having breakouts especially if you have oily skin <which of course I have, alas!>

Since I have oily, acne-prone skin, I usually use cleansers with salicylic acid that helps get rid of excess oils and pimple-causing bacteria. These types of cleansers work well for me but they tend to make my skin dry, patchy and sensitive to sunlight. So I need a really heavy duty moisturizer to keep my skin hydrated, but of course with the evolution of skin care technology it's not enough to put only one cream on your face to keep it healthy and well hydrated. That's why I started looking for other products that would help my skin to retain moisture and elasticity.

Now, as I have mentioned from my other post, I have a forever love relationship with green tea because of its antioxidants and anti-inflammatory benefits. So aside from drinking organic green tea everyday, I try to incorporate some green tea skin care products on my daily skin care routine.

On that note, here is my review about the Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum that I got along with the Innisfree Green Tea Cleansing Foam from the Lucky Box.

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum 80ml

A moisturizing serum with organic Jeju green tea and green tea seeds that hydrate your skin from deep within!

1. More moisture and freshness with 100% green tea.
Rich in amino acids and minerals, green tea from Jeju's own green tea leaves hydrates your skin.

2. Dual Moisture-Rising Technology™ derived from green tea and green tea seed oil
The fresh green tea deeply hydrates your skin and the green tea seed oil creates a strong moisture barrier to keep your skin moisturized longer.

3. The first thing to apply after a face wash!
As the first skincare product you use, it helps hold moisture in your skin and prevents moisture loss. (www.innisfreeworld.com)

Innisfree claims: The Innisfree Green Tea Seed Line is a special moisturizing and nourishing care line.

Packaging:

The packaging of Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum comes in a mossy green small plastic bottle with a pump. The nozzle has an extra capping that functions to prevent leakage. One of the reasons why I love Innisfree products is because they not only make quality products but make sure that the packaging is hygienic, spill-proof and travel-friendly. As you can see from the picture above, the bottle is semi-opaque so you can actually check how much of the serum is left.

Content:

The serum has a translucent appearance. It has a watery consistency and easily spreads through the skin. One pump is enough for the whole face as it is easily absorbed by the skin. It doesn't feel sticky or greasy but rather feels lightweight. After application, it leaves the skin feeling supple and soft like you haven't been stripped off of moisture from washing.

Scent:

The scent is heavenly! Okay, I know I'm exaggerating a bit, but this serum has a mild green tea(citrusy) fragrance. It doesn't sting my nose nor it triggers my rhinitis. I really feel relax and re-energized every time I use this product.

Overall Verdict:

I now know why this product is a cult favorite. I literally fell inlove with this product and it has constantly been a part of my morning skin care routine. At first, I was a bit apprehensive into trying this since I have an oily, acne-prone skin but it did not make my skin look like an oil well rather it improved my skin tone. It made my skin look healthier and glowing. Since it easily is absorbed by the skin it doesn't leave me feeling sticky or greasy. The best part is that it didn't break me out at all.

Pros:
Good for combination - oily skin types.
Has high % content of natural green tea.
Has a mild citrusy fragrance.
Easily absorbs through the skin by patting motion; it does not sting.
The product doesn't feel sticky or greasy.
It doesn't break me out.

Cons:
I really can't say anything bad about this product aside from it might not suit dry skin because of the Alcohol content.

Repurchase?

Absolutely! I think this product is absolutely amazing. This is affordable and can compete with the high-end brands of serum.

Have you tried this? How was your experience? Did it work or not?
